While observing fast, Modi will not disturb his daily official routine of meeting people and officials, and clearing files.

While Amit Shah will participate in a protest at West Bengal's Hubli, all other leaders, including PM Modi, will maintain their daily schedule during the fast.

Amit Shah’s tweet comes a day after PM Modi accused the opposition parties of politicising the legacy of Dalit icon Dr BR Ambedkar. The prime minister went on to say that no government had honoured Ambedkar like his government did.

"I want to assure farmers of Karnataka that we will work for the interests of the farmers in the state," he said.

Shah's declaration comes amid continued ceasefire violations, several infiltration attempts by Pakistan into India to carry out subversive activities.

The TDP leader alleged that BJP had done graver injustice to Andhra Pradesh than the Congress, hitting back at Amit Shah's letter released earlier today.

"I want to give a target for 2019 polls. We want to win more than 21 seats out of 25 seats from Northeast," Shah said addressing a rally of BJP booth unit chiefs.
